Course Overview

Session Delivery
This course is delivered synchronously in a multimodal format, both in-class and also virtually via Zoom. If you choose to attend in-class you will have the option to remain after the info session for a workshop to assist you in setting up your OneDrive app. If you choose to attend virtually and would like assistance with setting up your OneDrive Desktop app you will be able to make an appointment with me after the session date.

Session Description
Using Microsoft OneDrive effectively can enhance your workflow, improve collaboration, and ensure your important documents are always within reach. This training session will introduce you to the Microsoft OneDrive desktop app where you will learn how to manage and share documents, identify use cases where other Microsoft file storage options may be preferable, troubleshoot common errors, dispel common misconceptions, and ultimately sign into your Algonquin College OneDrive account on your PC or MacOS device. Through a combination of demonstrations, discussion, and real-world examples, you will gain practical experience using OneDrive.

OneDrive Features
The session will also cover essential features such as:

  • File versioning,
  • Managing access,
  • Offline access, and 
  • Integration with other Microsoft 365 apps.

Upon completion of this training, you will be able to:
  • Describe the purpose and capabilities of Microsoft OneDrive,
  • Compare best use cases for Microsoft OneDrive, Teams, and SharePoint,
  • Outline the features and functionalities of Microsoft OneDrive,
  • Dispel common Microsoft OneDrive misconceptions,
  • Troubleshoot common Microsoft OneDrive errors or issues, and
  • Set up and start syncing in the Microsoft OneDrive App on your PC or MacOS device.
