Cultivating Wellbeing in the Context of Crisis and Media Exposure

Synopsis

Friday, June 5th, 11:00am-12:00pm

Course Overview

In a rapidly changing and volatile world, exposure to crises—whether local or global—can have a significant impact on mental health and overall wellbeing. Conflict, violence, political and economic instability, climate-related disasters, public health emergencies, and other threats to safety can contribute to heightened stress and anxiety, even when experienced indirectly.

These challenges are often intensified by constant exposure to traditional and social media. Continuous streams of distressing news and information can overwhelm our capacity to cope, magnifying emotional and psychological strain.

This interactive seminar explores how crisis exposure and media overload affect wellbeing and offers practical strategies to help individuals manage stress, build resilience, and support their wellbeing during times of uncertainty.

Join the Wellness & Abilities Team, in partnership with TELUS Health, as we explore practical strategies to protect mental wellbeing and build resilience during times of crisis and heightened media exposure.
