Job Design & Evaluation Fundamentals

Synopsis

This is a self-paced training course for People Leaders to prepare complete, accurate and well supported PDFs that appropriately reflect the work performed by the position.

Course Overview

This course provides People Leaders with a practical understanding of job classification and the requirements for completing, reviewing, and revising a Position Description Form (PDF).

It provides a brief overview of the College's classification groups and key classification principles, with a primary focus on Full-Time Support positions, where the PDF process is more detailed due to the unionized classification framework.

The course will guide People Leaders through the PDF section by section, with practical guidance on how to accurately and clearly describe the position's responsibilities, scope, decision-making, and working environment.

The intent is to equip People Leaders with the knowledge and tools to prepare complete, accurate and well-supported PDFs that appropriately reflect the work performed by the position.
