Information Security Awareness and Training

Synopsis

This is a self-paced micro-learning training course which must be completed by all employees of Algonquin College.

Course Overview

This training is required during onboarding as part of the College’s Information Security (IT01) and Privacy (AD24) Policies.

Every day, Algonquin College collects, uses, stores, and shares information that is essential to teaching, learning, and operations. This includes personal, academic, financial, research, and operational information belonging to students, employees, and the College community.

Protecting this information is not just a technical requirement, it is a shared responsibility.

This course is designed to build practical awareness of information security and privacy risks and to help you apply safe, responsible practices in your daily work. Through short, interactive modules and real‑world scenarios, you will learn how individual actions such as clicking a link, handling personal information, or reporting an incident can have a significant impact on the College’s security posture and on the privacy of others.
